Early Access: A Winter in Hawkesburn
Written by Dark, 29 Apr, 2025
"A winter in Hawkesburn" will be the next event. All screenshots that have been shown this year have been from areas tied to this event.
So what is "A winter on Hawkesburn"?
Originally planned to be the winter event for 2024 to 2025, it has become what can be described as "Early Access". After speaking to others in the team, we came to the conclusion that RP continuity is something players want even if the world around them is not yet fully technically realized. Other PWs go online with far more broken servers than what we have currently, so this will be our Early Access experiment.
Why the village of Hawkesburn? Why not use a location already shown before? Because they need to be reworked with the new quality standards that are now within our power. Hawkesburn was made from scratch with the new capabilities in mind, and showcases the best we can create currently. All other locations will be reworked in time, but this quaint village is the ideal location for the Early Access test.
It will be set in the year 1199, during winter, and will have a limited run time (how long is open to debate). All characters made, their gear, what they do, and what they accomplish, will be part of official canon and they will remain in the vault for when we switch to a more open game world (and thus go to the year 1200).
More news are soon to follow. Stay tuned.
